DRIVING TOURISM FORWARD: COLLABORATIVE PROSPECTS FOR UBD AND TOURISM CLUSTER TEAM BEDB

Tuesday 18 April 2024 – A meeting between Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) was held at the Design &Technology Building, Kampong Anggerek Desa. sought to explore as well as strengthen collaborative efforts in bridging the gap between academia and industry in research and entrepreneurship within the tourism sector.

BEDB was represented by Tuan Teo Boon Wah, Acting Head, FDI Action & Support Centre (FAST), who was accompanied by Puan Noorus Sadiqin Haji Ashari and Puan Tuty Hallawaty Mahmod from the Tourism Cluster Team. Representing UBD was Professor Dr Mohd Ayub Sadiq @ Lin Naing, Assistant Vice Chancellor (Innovation and Enterprise- OAVCIE). Accompanying him was the assistant registrar OAVCIE.

Both gatherings have generated enthusiasm and a clear determination to delve deeper into planning collaborative ventures in the future. UBD is dedicated to propelling sustainable development efforts, aiming to foster a sustainable environment through interdisciplinary research and strategic alliances. These partnerships encompass various avenues including research collaboration, student internships, and potential for partnerships with student entrepreneurs.
