On Thursday, 1st April 2021, students from Discovery Year Incubation program of Entrepreneurship Village (EV) from Office Assistant Vice Chancellor Innovation and Enterprise (OAVCIE) had the opportunity to attend a workshop organized by BigBWN called GO DIGITAL ASEAN which took place at the Main Lecture Theatre, Level 2, IHS Extension Building, UBD.

The GO Digital ASEAN workshop is a Digital Literacy Project with an initiative to focus on closing the digital gap across ASEAN, in support of ASEAN’s Coordinating Committee on MSMEs vision. Implemented by The Asia Foundation, with support from, Google’s philanthropic arm, the initiative will train up to 200,000 people from rural regions and underserved communities – including entrepreneurs, underemployed youth, and women.

In the course of the workshop, the participants were exposed to a plethora of topics such as, Cyber Security 101 that was presented by BruCert, E-Commerce/E-Kadai presented by AITI, Digital Marketing & Employability by BigBWN, Technology for inclusive education by Nisai Brunei, and Art & Science of Digital Workforce by Comquest Brunei. It is hoped that the participants are able to gain new sills from the 21st-century to support the launching of the Digital Economy Master Plan 2035 to turn Brunei into a smart nation.
