Community Development Project called EMAS, Empowering Community for an Ageing Society

The researchers of the Ageing or older adults research group from UBD and the Ministry of Health, met Tuan Awang Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan, the Permanent Secretary (Municipal and District) at the Ministry of Home Affairs on the 8th November 2022 for a community development project called EMAS, Empowering Community for an Ageing Society.

It is a project to engage youth and older people to help both generations to be happy and healthy. The project has been presented to, and supported by the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. It is a Social Enterprise project of UBD involving the PAPRSH Institute of Health Sciences and Centre of Advanced Research (CARe), together with relevant stakeholders and ministries.
