DISCOVERY YEAR INCUBATION STUDENTS IN THE SHELL LIVEWIRE HACKATHON

Between 9th and 12th April 2021, seven out of ten students from the Discovery Year Incubation Program under EV had the opportunity to participate in the LiveWire Hackathon event, organized by Brunei Shell LiveWIRE Sdn. Bhd.

The LiveWIRE Hackathon was a three-day hackathon, designed to stimulate the entrepreneurial capacity of the youth to work together and develop suitable solutions from a broader perspective focusing on 5 core areas: Agrotechnology, Waste Management, Digitalization, Smart Manufacturing, and Energy Transition. Participants were provided with mentorship sessions and training workshops to further refine and provide depth to their ideas, reshape business strategies and processes to derive more value, by considering the prospects of the ideas as part of Industrial Revolution 4.0, rather than only tackling innovation.

From the workshop, it is hoped that the participants will be more equipped with relevant knowledge to be able to generate business ideas that can lead to business opportunities worthy of further investment. During the event, Team Pitcher won first place with BND2,000, Team RecOil won second place with BND1,500, and Elctrack Team won third place with BND1,000
