Innovation Wharf 2022

The UBD Innovation Wharf showcases some inventions that have been filed for patents under Universiti Brunei Darussalam. It was initially located on the ground floor of the university’s library in 2019. However, it is now relocated to the gallery on the second floor of the new officially opened building, the Pro-Chancellor Art Centre. It was officiated by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda (Dr) Haji Al- Muhtadee Billah on 11th August 2022 in conjunction with the opening of the Pesta Convo 2022.
Interactive LCD display boxes are used to house the invention's physical item where visitors can watch details and videos of the invention by tapping their finger on the touch screen. There are 8 inventions exhibited namely:
- Membraneless plant microbial fuel cell for generating electricity
- Synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles using Costus Woodsonii
- A method of making modified charcoal for selective adsorption
- A device to measure stability of a single-piece dental inplant
- An IOT based low-cost automated medicine dispenser
- Anti-corrosion electrolyte coating system and method
- Anti-bacterial and anti-fungal photocatalytic smart coating
- Composition for a roofing material
