USC visit to Kampong Ayer Cultural and Tourism Gallery (KACTG)

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei, 11 April 2023 - Members of the UBD Startup Center (USC) visited the renowned Kampong Ayer Cultural and Tourism Gallery (KACTG), exposing them to the opportunity to delve into the rich tapestry of Brunei's cultural heritage. The visit was led by Dr. Annie Dayani Ahad Abdullah, Deputy Director of Innovation and Enterprise from the Office of Assistant Vice Chancellor (Innovation and Enterprise), Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

The gallery tour was guided by a few officers from the Tourism Development Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT), Brunei Darussalam, providing immersive exploration of the gallery's diverse exhibits and offering an intimate glimpse into the daily lives and customs of the water village inhabitants.

From the elegant traditional costumes that once adorned the locals to the meticulously crafted handicrafts that embody the village's artistic heritage, the KACTG boasts an impressive array of artifacts that paint a vivid picture of a bygone era. Each display serves as a captivating window into the traditions, rituals, and values cherished by the water village communities.

Brunei's rich cultural heritage, exemplified by the Kampong Ayer Cultural and Tourism Gallery, continues to captivate and inspire visitors from near and far. As this cultural gem shines a spotlight on the unique way of life that thrives within the water village, it stands as a testament to Brunei's unwavering commitment to preserving its treasured traditions for generations to come.
