CALLING FOR JUDGES: PREPPING FOR STARTUP SUCCESS AT INCUFEST PITCHING EVENT

Thursday 4 April 2024 – The Office of Assistant Vice Chancellor - Innovation and Enterprise (OAVCIE) convene a pivotal briefing session for the Judges at UBD prior to the highly anticipated Incufest pitching event which will be held on 22 April 2024. Five esteemed judges, representing diverse sectors and backgrounds were invited. Attended the briefing were YM Tuan Haji Ibrahim Khalili bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman, the General Manager, SPHI Foods Sendirian Berhad, YM Tuan Haji Aidil Bahrin bin Dato Seri Laila Jasa Hj Mohd Salleh, Managing Director and Chief and Founder, Jana Kapital Sendirian Berhad, YM Tuan Dahang Bunchuan, Chief Operating Officer, Jana Kapital Sendirian Berhad, YM Tuan Wong Teck Sion, Head of Commercial Department, NIAT Sendirian Berhad, and YM Tuan Messoni Janin, Senior Business Consulting Analyst, Dynamik Technologies Sendirian Berhad. YM Professor Dr Mohd Ayub Sadiq @ Lin Naing, the Assistant Vice Chancellor (Innovation and Enterprise), who is also the Chair of UBD Startup Induction Grant (SIG) Committee, welcomed the guests. Accompanying him was the Deputy Director (Enterprise), YM Dr Annie Dayani Hj Ahad.

The panel of judges, hailing from renowned companies spanning various industries, brought with them a wealth of expertise and insight. Their diverse perspectives promised to enrich the evaluation process, ensuring a thorough assessment of each startup's potential for success.

UBD Incufest is a dynamic platform designed to empower startups by providing them with a stage to showcase their projects and ideas. At its core, Incufest serves as a launchpad for budding entrepreneurs, offering them the opportunity to pitch their ventures before a panel of five esteemed judges. These judges bring a wealth of expertise from diverse industries, providing valuable feedback and evaluation.

The primary goal of Incufest is to facilitate the growth and success of startups by offering them access to resources, mentorship, and potential funding opportunities. Through the Startup Induction Grant (SIG), participating startups have the chance to secure seed funding or accelerate their growth, propelling their ventures to the next level.
