MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN UBD AND BEYOND TOMORROW SDN BHD

On Thursday, 16th November 2023, Beyond Tomorrow Sdn Bhd and the Office of Assistant Vice Chancellor Innovation and Enterprise (OAVCIE), Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at UBD Library.
The MoU signed between UBD and Beyond Tomorrow represents a comprehensive collaboration focused on several key areas. The partnership encompasses collaborative research initiatives, which may include seminars leading to publications, fieldwork for joint research projects, laboratory attachment, and short courses. This strategic alliance also emphasizes industrial engagement, fostering an environment where academic research is practically applied in real-world contexts, and establishing a bridge between academia and industry. Moreover, the agreement outlines plans for industrial internship and apprenticeship programs, enabling students to gain invaluable hands-on experience, utilizing their theoretical knowledge in practical settings.
Central to this partnership is exploring the establishment of a state-of-the-art joint laboratory facility at UBD, which will serve as a hub for research, experimentation, and collaborative projects, providing advanced resources for both institutions. The collaboration extends beyond research and industrial engagement to include other areas such as faculty exchange programs, joint seminars, and the exchange of scholarly materials. This comprehensive MoU signifies a joint effort by UBD and Beyond Tomorrow to foster innovation, bridge the gap between academia and industry, and create a collaborative environment focused on practical applications, ultimately aiming to impact industry, society, and academic advancement positively.
The MoU was signed by Ts Tee Kok Keong, Chief Executive Officer, Beyond Tomorrow Sdn Bhd, and Senior Professor Dr Chandratilak De Silva Liyanage, Dean of the School of Digital Sciences. Witnessing the signing were Professor Dr Mohammad Ayub Sadiq @ Lin Naing, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Innovation & Enterprise), UBD, and Reuben Chiew Hock Leong, Technical Director, Beyond Tomorrow Sdn Bhd.
