POTENTIAL COLLABORATION WITH NIAT SDN BHD

Tuesday 16 January 2024 – The Office of Assistant Vice Chancellor (Innovation and Enterprise) (OAVCIE) paid a courtesy visit to Network Integrity Assurance Technologies (NIAT) Sdn. Bhd. Headquarters at Menglait to initiate discussions with the Chief Executive Officer, Tuan Lim Ming Soon, with the Head of Commercial, Tuan Wong Teck Sion and the rest of the team, in identifying priority areas for future collaborations and strengthening an existing partnership between UBD and NIAT.
The one-hour meeting focused on potential joint initiatives which could leverage the strengths and expertise of both UBD and NIAT, aiming to streamline processes related to research and development for commercialisation, internship and mentorship, and training and development of business startups that is line with UN SDG 4. The meeting also witnessed CEO Tuan Lim Ming Soon expressing his utmost support for innovation and high interest in investing in startups.
UBD was led by the Assistant Vice Chancellor (Innovation and Enterprise), Professor Dr Mohd Ayub Sadiq @ Lin Naing. Also in attendance were the Deputy Director (Innovation), Dr Lim Ren Chong and the Deputy Director (Enterprise), Dr Annie Dayani binti Haji Ahad, and the Assistant Registrar OAVCIE.
The meeting yielded intentions and strong interests to pursue further engagement with relevant faculties in UBD to strategise plans for collaborative projects in the future.
NIAT is an established government-linked company, recognized for its expertise in satellite services in Brunei Darussalam. The company is currently working closely with UBD for an ongoing academia grant supporting the development of OBSERVETM which offers a Geographical Information System (GIS) platform for satellite data imagery.
