Business Ecosystem for Startups is an initiative organized by EV/USC for the startups in UBD to give them an idea or better understanding of the different platforms and assistance available from various institutions in Brunei Darussalam. The event was held on the 16th of August 2022 and attended by Professor Dr. Mohammad Ayub Sadiq @ Lin Naing, Assistant Vice Chancellor (Innovation and Enterprise), Pg  Dr. Emeroylariffion Abas (Director OAVCIE), Dr. Annie Dayani Binti  Ahad Abdullah(Deputy Director OAVCIE) and Mr. Lim Kok Shien (Head of Advancement).

The talk: Business Ecosystem for Startups were represented by Darussalam Enterprise (DARe), Prime Minsiter’s Office, Bank Usahawan Sdn Bhd, and UBD Startup Centre (USC). DARe covered various ways they provided to the local startups to penetrate the market, financial, and Space of the business.However, the startups first need to be in the DARe ecosystem by joining Bootcamp and Accelerator Programme. The I-Usahawan programme by Prime Minsiter’s Office encouraged Bruneian entrepreneurs to start, own and grow their businesses and secure their first contract offered by private companies/Government or Government Link Companies. Furthermore, Bank Usahawan Sdn Bhd provides insight on how the startup will be eligible to apply for startup financing and the documentation required. It is hoped that the students would take the opportunity of the support provided by the institutions for upscaling their business to sustain in the local market and hopefully penetrating abroad market
