The 2nd EU-ASEAN Workshop On The ASEAN Technology Management Hub (TMH)

BRUNEI DARUSSALAM, March 16 – Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) in its capacity as a member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) virtually participated in the two days 2nd EU-ASEAN Workshop on The ASEAN Technology Management Hub (TMH) held in Siam Reap, Cambodia. The workshop had successfully gathered multiple stakeholders from all the ASEAN member states and served as a continuation to the first workshop attended by UBD on 22 February 2023 which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Attending on behalf of UBD was Pg. Dr. Emeroylariffion bin Pg. Abas, Director at the Office of Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Innovation & Enterprise) as the head delegate and accompanying officer, Abdul Hanif bin Haji Morsidi, IP Officer.

During the workshop, a few agendas were tabled during the Focus Group sessions as a continuum to the resolutions from the first meeting in Jakarta. Among the issues discussed by participants were the potential structure and framework of the TMH, the best way for effective TMH management, the optimal business model, and how to best maintain TMH’s sustainability.

The workshop also provided participants with sharing sessions from prominent speakers on similar establishments from the European Union (EU) as insights and learning opportunities.

ASEAN Technology Management Hub is a regional initiative that aims to connect the ASEAN community involved in science, technology, and innovation (STI) via a comprehensive online platform to accelerate research, catalyse innovation, foster knowledge sharing and promote technology transfers in ASEAN by enhancing and complementing existing academia-private sector alliances.
